Enhanced superplasticity in commercially pure titanium alloy
The superplasticity of commercially pure titanium alloy at high temperature was studied and the dynamic recrystallization phenomenon of the alloy was investigated by using electron back scattered diffraction. A two-step deformation method was used to increase the ductility of the alloy from 188% to 243%. 2004 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
متن کاملDental implant materials: commercially pure titanium and titanium alloys.
Manufacturers use six different titanium-based biomaterials to fabricate dental implants. Each of these materials, including four grades of commercially pure titanium and two titanium alloys, has distinct mechanical and physical properties. Clinicians should recognize these differences for optimal treatment planning and patient care.
متن کاملSolid-State Diffusion Bonding of Commercially pure Titanium and Precipitation Hardening Stainless steel
Solid-state direct diffusion bonding of commercially pure Titanium (Cp-Ti) and precipitation hardening stainless steel (PHSS) has been carried out in the temperature range of 800°C to 1000°C with an interval of 50°C for 3.6 ks under 3.5 Mpa uniaxial load in (4 to 6)×10 Pa vacuum. The effects of temperatures have been investigated with reference to bond strength. The examination revealed that th...
متن کاملMicrostructure and microtexture of highly cold-rolled commercially pure titanium
The microstructure and texture evolution of a commercially pure titanium sheet during cold-rolling is investigated in detail by X-ray diffraction and by orientation imaging in the FEG-SEM and in the TEM. The experimental data are compared with simulation results obtained by a viscoplastic self-consistent model. The aim of this work is to provide with a detailed description of the fine scale def...
متن کاملA quantitative comparison of machined commercially pure titanium and titanium-aluminum-vanadium implants in rabbit bone.
Screw-shaped implants made from rods of commercially pure titanium (grade 1) and titanium-aluminum-vanadium (grade 5) were machined, and the implant surface structures were numerically described before being placed in rabbit tibiae for healing periods of 1 months, 6 months, and 12 months. Quantitative comparisons of the removal torque (Ncm) necessary to loosen the implants from the bone bed wer...
